Nice Wall accent near the Kitchen Area of YABU MOA
My Sister and i were really curious about Yabu Japanese Restaurant. It is all over twitter, instagram, and facebook. So when we had the chance, we visited newest branch at SM Mall of Asia. I think it’s about time this restaurant settled down south and now that its SM Southmall branch will open in February 2013, which is closer to where I live, I can get my katsu fix a lot more often!

Yabu is a really cozy place to dine in. The branch holds the same aesthetic as the flagship store, which is in Megamall, and the Magnolia branch.
As we reached the Yabu MOA branch, we were assisted by a server who asked us politely to wait to be seated. The place was packed considering it was not off-peak when we went there! It is amazing that the place can accommodate so many people. There was a line and we waited outside to reserve a table but it was not that much of a delay. We were greeted by an enthusiastic staff even if the restaurant was full of guests.
The moment we were ushered to our table, one of the servers approached us to hand the menu and gave us a brief background about its content and what sauce is best for every katsu since it was our first visit. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry. It’s served with unlimited Japanese rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, unlimited cabbage with sesame dressing and a bowl of fruit. You can Add Php20.00 for a fried egg. My sister ordered Rosu Pork Loin Set. It’s a ¾ thick, juicy pork cutlet with trimming of fat. I’m on a diet but the moment I tasted the curry and the katsu combination, I was in awe! Goodbye diet.

I happened to also taste the soft shell crab once from a take out bag. Even if it was not served right out of the kitchen I still liked it. I also find it amazing that you can literally eat everything listed on their menu, like everything tastes good.
That dining experience I had with Yabu was truly remarkable. Yabu's staff were all so kind and very polite! There is also one thing that impressed me with the servers of this branch: There were a lot of guests that time but the server who was assigned to us was very attentive to the point that he made sure that I will NEVER ask for a refill of iced tea (even the ice!!) When my glass is almost half empty, he will come over and give me a refill right away without having to call their attention for it. That really amazed me - the extra mile service. Those things I always appreciate when I go to a certain establishment, because really, it's not just eating the food, it's also how the staff serves you with heart and passion that makes the experience delightful and memorable!
I just found out that the name of the server (yabu moa branch)is sir john sumbrero..i applaud you!two thumbs up!
